SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT IN EFFECT FOR:

  • SUSSEX - KENNEBECASIS VALLEY AND KINGS COUNTY

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG THE SOUTHERN COAST OF MAINE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. RAIN AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THIS EVENING OVER SOUTHWESTERN NEW BRUNSWICK AND BECOME AT TIMES HEAVY AS IT SPREADS NORTHEASTWARD OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND INTO SATURDAY. RAIN AT TIMES HEAVY IS EXPECTED TO TAPER TO SHOWERS OR DRIZZLE BY SATURDAY EVENING.

AT THIS TIME THE MOST SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OVER SOUTHERN NEW BRUNSWICK WHERE BETWEEN 25 TO 40 MM OR MORE ARE EXPECTED IN AREAS OF HEAVIEST RAIN; HOWEVER, THERE REMAINS SOME SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THE FINAL TRACK OF THIS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM. SMALL SHIFTS IN THE TRACK OF THIS FEATURE MAY SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT EXPECTED RAINFALL ACCUMULATION, AND ADDITIONAL WARNINGS MAY BE REQUIRED AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.
