SNOWFALL WARNING IN EFFECT FOR:

  • CHILCOTIN

FURTHER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS UP TO 10 CM OVER WESTERN SECTIONS THIS AFTERNOON.

AN INTENSE FRONTAL SYSTEM OVER THE BC CENTRAL COAST WILL CONTINUE TO DIRECT A STRONG FLOW OF MOISTURE OVER THE CHILCOTIN THIS AFTERNOON. MOST OF THE REGION WILL SEE LITTLE SNOWFALL OR A FEW RAIN SHOWERS DUE TO THE SHADOWING EFFECT OF THE COAST MOUNTAINS. HOWEVER, THE FLOW IS SO STRONG THAT MOISTURE WILL SPILL OVER INTO WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE REGION PRODUCING TOTAL SNOWFALL OF UP TO 20 CM.

THE SNOW WILL EASE EARLY THIS EVENING AS THE FRONT PUSHES SOUTHWARD.

BE PREPARED TO ADJUST YOUR DRIVING WITH CHANGING ROAD CONDITIONS. VISIBILITY MAY BE SUDDENLY REDUCED AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW.
