SNOWFALL WARNING IN EFFECT FOR:

  • NORTH COLUMBIA

SNOWFALL, WITH TOTAL AMOUNTS OF 15 TO 20 CM CONTINUES.

A STRONG FRONTAL SYSTEM IS TRACKING ACROSS BC GIVING SNOW TO THE YELLOWHEAD, KINBASKET AND NORTH COLUMBIA REGIONS TODAY WITH FURTHER AMOUNTS UP TO 10 CM EXPECTED. AS TEMPERATURES ARE NEAR ZERO DEGREE, THE SNOW IS LIKELY TO BE WET OR MIXED WITH RAIN.

SNOW OR A WET SNOW / RAIN MIX WILL END THIS EVENING AS THE COLD FRONT DEPARTS THE AREA. IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT, GUSTY WINDS AND A TEMPERATURE DROP ARE EXPECTED.

VISIBILITY MAY BE SUDDENLY REDUCED AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW. SURFACES SUCH AS HIGHWAYS, ROADS, WALKWAYS AND PARKING LOTS MAY BECOME DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE DUE TO ACCUMULATING SNOW.
