LERTS FOR: WEST COLUMBIA

WARNINGS

10:20 AM PST TUESDAY 17 JANUARY 2017
SNOWFALL WARNING IN EFFECT FOR:

  • TRANS-CANADA HIGHWAY - EAGLE PASS TO ROGERS PASS

A LONG PERIOD OF SNOWFALL, WITH TOTAL AMOUNTS OF 25 TO 30 CM IS EXPECTED.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE TRANS CANADA HIGHWAY - EAGLE PASS TO ROGERS PASS AS A PACIFIC FRONTAL SYSTEM CROSSES THE INTERIOR. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO EASE THIS AFTERNOON THEN RE-DEVELOP THIS EVENING.
TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 30 CM CAN BE EXPECTED BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

VISIBILITY MAY BE SUDDENLY REDUCED AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW. IF VISIBILITY IS REDUCED WHILE DRIVING, SLOW DOWN, WATCH FOR TAIL LIGHTS AHEAD AND BE PREPARED TO STOP.

WEATHER IN THE MOUNTAINS CAN CHANGE SUDDENLY RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
